The successor to the iPhone X-lookalike that was the P30 from last year, the Motorola P40 promises to be another value-for-money offering from the Lenovo-owned brand. Considering the rumour mills have started churning out details of the upcoming smartphone, we can safely assume that its launch isn’t too far away. A new set of leaks has revealed key details about this upcoming Android One-toting handset from the Chinese company. Moreover, 91mobiles has been able to obtain the render of this device, giving us a good look at what it’s likely to look like. So if you are wondering what to expect from the Motorola P40, here’s a roundup of everything we know about the phone.
The newest trend among manufacturers who want to do away with the notch, while also offering full-screen front surfaces, is the punch-hole camera. This approach results in a tiny hole in the display, which is used to house the front-facing camera. Rumour has it the Samsung Galaxy S10 phones will be adopting the same design, and a number of other manufacturers have seemingly jumped the gun as well. The Motorola P40 it seems, will be one of them, as renders have revealed that this phone will have a punch-hole camera on the top-left corner of its display.

The display hence grabs a bezel-less design, but there’s indeed a tiny chin at the bottom, which features a Motorola logo, just like the P30. The rear surface of this handset will apparently be made from glass, and have curved edges on the two sides. The Motorola logo will likely be seen hiding the fingerprint reader, while the vertically-aligned dual-camera system will again echo the design of Apple’s iPhones.

2019 is definitely going to be the year in which we’ll be getting to see several smartphones featuring 48MP sensors. One among them will possibly be the Motorola P40. Out of the two cameras on the back of this device, one will grab a 48-megapixel shooter (most likely the Sony IMX586), while the other will be equipped with a 5MP sensor. Don’t expect support for wireless charging though.

Samsung Unveils 'First UHD OLED Display' for Laptops Samsung Display on Tuesday said it has developed the world's first UHD OLED (organic light emitting diode) display for laptops. The panel-making unit of Samsung Electronics said it will begin mass production of the UHD OLED panels in mid-February, sporting a diagonal size of 15.6 inches and a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels.
